Delete my account

You can delete your Kairo account directly in the app, at any time.

In the app

  1. 1Open Kairo and go to your Profile.
  2. 2Open Settings.
  3. 3Go to the account deletion section.
  4. 4Confirm the deletion.

Deleting the app does not delete your account. And deleting your Kairo account does not itself cancel an Apple or Google subscription.

What is removed

Deletion removes your account and profile from ordinary use, and your photographs are deleted from storage. Also deleted:

  • your swipes, the join requests you sent, and blocks in both directions;
  • your community memberships — consent records for sensitive identity communities are destroyed rather than kept;
  • your push tokens and Kairo's own notification-delivery records;
  • your subscription entitlement records, share-link records, and the read, explore and location-change ledgers.

What can remain

Deletion does not erase everything. These can remain:

  • messages in shared conversations, with their text intact, once the link to you is removed — a message cannot be deleted, before or after account deletion;
  • reports and meetup reviews, kept for safety and evidence;
  • legal acceptances, non-sensitive community consent records, and age-assurance events, including the age in years you declared;
  • moderation records, which were never linked to your account identifier;
  • a cryptographic fingerprint derived from your email address or provider identifier, which documents the termination and supports prevention of ban evasion — the original value cannot be read back from it;
  • platform and authentication logs, caches and backups, which follow provider and system cycles.

Where litigation, valid legal process or a serious safety investigation requires preservation, deletion of the affected records is suspended.

Can't access the app?

Email contact@joinkairo.ca from your account email and we'll process the deletion. It is also the Privacy Officer's address: it receives requests to access, correct, or withdraw consent.
